Set me as a Seal (2023)

Inspired by romantic harmonies, particularly Rachmaninoff’s piano style, and harmonic palette, this setting was written for and premiered at the wedding of a dear friend and member of my choir. Written for 5 soloists, the work builds in a slow and flowing way to a climactic moment on the word “love,” in the context of the phrase “Come away my Love.” from the Song of Songs text in the Bible.

Sopranos: Justine Ash, Leah Brashear, Mary Kusko
